Goodbye Tyler

"The cause of his death remains under investigation," said Kim Laudano, the public affairs officer for the 75th Ranger Regiment. "I can say he died after physical training." He was taken by ground transportation to Martin Army Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Harrison, 27, was the third training casualty at Fort Benning in a month. Tyler Wahl, 18, of Pelican Rapids, Minn., a National Guardsmen undergoing basic training, died June 30 from heat-related injuries. On June 17, 19-year-old Vincent Pedulla, an ROTC cadet from James Madison University in Harrison, Va., died after a morning run.

Tyler Dean Wahl, 18, Pelican Rapids, died Thursday, June 30, 2005, in Martin Army Community Hospital, Fort Benning, Ga.
Mr. Wahl was born March 14, 1987, in Fergus Falls, Minn. He joined the Army National Guard in 2004. He graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 2005.
He is survived by his father, Delane, Pelican Rapids; two brothers, Devon, Pelican Rapids, Trever, Fargo; three sisters, Michelle (Boyd) Tenneson, Fergus Falls, Heidi (Jason) Thornton, Fargo, Melissa (Jon) Qualley, Frazee, Minn.; his grandparents, Kermit and Caroline Klovstad, Harvey Wahl, all Erhard, Minn.; and his great-grandparents, Audrey Marsh and Mae Hanebuth, both Deer Creek, Minn.
Visitation: Friday from 4 to 7, with a prayer service at 7, in Larson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, and Saturday from 1 to 2 in Central Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids.
Funeral: Saturday at 2 in the church.
Burial: Central Lutheran Cemetery, Pelican Rapids.
