Burger Wars

Locals are of different opinion when the question is who serves the best hamburger in this area. Now King Philip has hung up his apron for the winter and before McDonald's hits town, let's set the pecking order. Give us your top five burgers within an hour's drive of 56572. Tell us why too. Is it quality, quantity, the meat, the bun, the price, the toppings?

I think that the Dash-Inn had the best burgers of all time.

1) Rocking Horse Cafe, Richville, Minnesota. Best burger for the Buck.
2) Ye Olde School House, Edwards, Minnesota. Buck Burgers Wednesday nights.

Good meat at a good price.

The Hi-Ho Cafe in Dilworth...Same kind of bun, lots of pickles and they make those old fashioned home-made chocolate malts. You even get it served up in a basket like Phils. Only thing lacking is you don't have good old Lake Lida to look at while you feast. Haven't found a place here in the Cities that even comes close to either Maple Beach or the Hi-Ho. Sis:)

Maple Beach Resort, Pelican Rapids (Lake Lida) There is no contest with the triple cheese (3 types of cheese on a large beef patty) and french fries to feed an army

No contest - Maple Beach. There is only one "Phil Burger" (with or without cheese)

Maple Beach, without a doubt! We love you Phil!

We had great burgers at Muddy Moose over the Labor Day Weekend. Sweet Potatoe Fries and Blue Moon Beer along with a burger my sister referenced as "A Beach on Main Street & Beer too."

Maple Beach is probably the best around, but Billy's has a great burger too.

I vote for the bacon cheeseburger at the Cornfield Cafe!

Remember the triangle hash browns at the Dash Inn with a California Burger? Nothing better on earth. And combine with a chocolate shake!!

Vi's Drive Inn was a close second. And Maple Beach is a very close third. The fries and the onion rings are to die for.

The Cornfield is a steady, dependable place. Good food, good service and pleasant place.

We are so lucky in 56572. Once Crossroads gets completely organized (won't take long), there will be nowhere better to go for good eats.
