Dastardly desecration

It was one of the most dastardly deeds ever perpetrated on the century-old town of Vergas. Motorists driving past the scenic city park Tuesday morning, September 11, were disturbed to see the “World’s Largest Loon” desecrated with red and blue paint, and with graffiti--some of it profane.“We’ve never had anything like this happen to our loon,” said city clerk Pat Ehlke. “I’ve lived here all my life....This is very sad.” The city is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the culprits.

Comments: This is really sad. I hope they find out who did this and then eveeryone in Vergas should go to their houses and spray paint them and see how they like it. Jeff J Frazee, MN

When the perpetrators are caught, they should be required to clean up after all the loons in Minnesota.

Also, the perpetrators ought to heed this warning: STAY AWAY FROM THE PELICAN!
