Lake Olaf water raising concerns

A stop sign at a Lake Olaf public access is now a sign of the times. The sign once stopped vehicles as they drove through the area. Now it sits about 10 feet into the water. High water issues continue to dominate time among the Otter Tail Board of Commissioners. On Tuesday the board focused on continued rising concerns around Lake Olaf. “The stop sign out there is now only for boats; let’s get that fixed,” Chairman Dennis Mosher said in regards to the public access stop sign ...... continued.

what about the land owners on this lake or is the board of commissioners only interested in saving the highway.
Olaf Lake is supposed to drain into the Pelican River. If you drive west of town, you can see the place that was the natural flow of water along 108. Easy to see.
Old timers often recalled skating on the ice from Olaf to Pelican along that waterway. Would it be possible to reconnect that old natural drain? I've said it before and been criticized on this blog before, but I'll say it again. Sometimes progress and improvements are really as great as they seem. Even building a highway without proper thought to nature and long history can lead to problems in the future.
