An unharmed bathroom, stolen cash and lighthouses, phone scams and walking home from Target

*70-year-old has beer in lot
A 70-year-old woman was discovered sitting in her vehicle in the Target parking lot around 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Although she had a beer bottle in her possession, Fergus Falls Police said she was not found to be legally intoxicated and was allowed to walk home.

*Cash taken from unlocked vehicle
Someone hit the jackpot when they found an unlocked vehicle on the 600 block of West Douglas and helped themselves to $10 to $50 in miscellaneous bills in the glove box. The money was taken late Wednesday or early Thursday, Fergus Falls Police said.

*Bathroom bench ignited
A bench in the Erhard city park bathroom was burning Thursday afternoon, believed to have been started by a cigarette. Pelican Rapids Fire Department extinguished the blaze.The bathroom was unharmed, according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department.

*Scam phone call from bogus UPS man
An individual from Green Acres Trail reported to Fergus Falls Police a voice mail she received regarding the recent money order scams. Someone calling himself Randy claimed to be a UPS representative from Las Vegas. When she attempted to call the number he left, it was disconnected.

*Attempted lighthouse heist
A resident on the 1200 block of College Street reported someone tried to steal an lighthouse from their yard. It was hooked up to an electrical cord, so it could not be removed but damage was done to the stake that holds it in the ground. Earlier in the month an electric light was pulled out of the yard, Fergus Falls Police said.
