Pelican Rapids Defeats Cloquet 87-56

Pelican Rapids, ranked #2 in Class AA, defeated Cloquet 87-56 in the first game of the 2009 Minnesota Timberwolves Shootout. The Vikings jumped out to a 49-25 halftime lead as they cruised to the win. Pelican Rapids was led by Tydan Storrusten, who finished with 29 points and Eric Shulstad, who had 27. Storrusten made nine of 19 from the field, three of seven from three-point range and eight of ten from the line. He added eight assists and five rebounds. Shulstad made ten of 16 from the field and all five free throw attempts. He grabbed 14 rebounds. Jan-Erik Lindberg added eleven points in the win.
