All that's missing are the sundogs

The new license looks like it did outside this morning at -25 F. Nobody asked me what it should look like. You? Remember last year, when they did ask about the back of the new Minnesota quarter? My first choice was two dimes and a nickel. My second was Randy Moss' playoff hairdo.

Just a sidelight to the MN driver's license issue....after being a ND resident for just over 5 yrs and walking into the ND License office, taking numerous computerized bus driving tests, smiling for my pic, declaring my info on the dotted line, I was pleased to learn I could walk out of that office with hard, plastic, ACTUAL driver's license in hand... all within 30 mn and all for a mere 8 bucks. In extreme contrast, having moved back to the lovely state of MN and going thru this very same process I have learned that it took 2 trips to the driver's license office, someone looking at my answers cheating off my test at the center, waiting in a very long line to get my mug shot taken and my vitals recorded, and after being there for almost 90 minutes and paying $33.00 instead of the $8.00 I still did not have a driver's license in hand. Worse yet, that was on October 13th and as of today, Jan 18th, I still do not have a plastic, hard copy o f my driver's license in hand. Turns out someone in MN forgot to fingerprint me as I had been an out of state resident for over 5 yrs. The Eden Prairie police bus force came and grabbed me off my bus stating I had been driving illegaly as I was not fingerprinted... I was told I had to go get a money order for $24 payable to the crime bureau for the finger printing process, and travel to the police dept to get this done, all while having to give up the income from the 3 bus routes they wouldn't let me drive. In the meantime, they tell me they lost my doctor's certificate from the physical they made me go take in November which cost me $86 bucks. Therefore, I had to backtrack and get duplicate information for that..... so here I sit... over one hundred dollars in out of pocket expenses, 3 months later and STILL no hard copy of my driver's license.... try to write a check down here without that ???? DONT. The idiot cashier's have not been trained in how to deal with a yellow paper copy of the license... BUT they will take a plastic 4 yr old ND license that has had it's corners clipped to invalidate it, no problem... hummmmm...... who said ND was the backwards state ? I don't think so.... by the way .. the license tabs for my vehicle in ND were $62.. in MN ???? $227 and that took THREE trips to the motor vehicle dept as #1 they need the finance co info and address, they need a hard copy of your insurance policy and they won't take a check from a ND bank..... even if it is Wells Fargo.. and oh yeah.. they don't accept debit cards.... what a treat this process has been.... I don't care what those stupid driver's license cards look like.. they should spend their money on simplifying the process so it's works instead on a new design. End of story..... your sister....
