Happy Birthday "Dear Leader"

AA March Madness returns to Concordia in prime time

WDAY-TV announced last night that they have purchased televison rights to the Section 8AA boys basketball tournament March, 5,8 and 11 from the Minnesota State High School League. I wonder if the schools get any of that money to help them with their budget shortfalls. WDAY should do just fine. The top four teams East Grand Forks, Crookston, DGF and Pelican Rapids are all in their area. Somebody is going to be watching. Where does the money go? All we need now is for Big Eddie to get back behind the basketball microphone with Rex Haugen and we'll have ourselves a barnburner, or was it a dandy? Those were simpler days.

After back to back losses, the hardest one last night at home vs. Crookston, our Vikings should now have sufficient humility to do well in prime time. The Crookston coach has the opposite problem. Quoted in today's Crookston Daily Times, he says
"It was a great game with great atmosphere. Both teams played pretty well, and we hit our free throws down the stretch. That was the key. It was a nice win for us, but nonetheless, a regular season game. We do not want to make too much out of it."
