Canta y no llores

De la Sierra Morena,
Cielito lindo, vienen bajando
Un par de ojitos negros,
Cielito lindo, de contrabando
Ay, ay, ay, ay,
Canta y no llores,
Porque cantando se alegran,
Cielito lindo, los corazones

Ay, Ay, Ay, Ay.

The Ethnic Vote- El Voto Latino
¿Quiere Ud. un colegio nuevo por sus niƱos? 12 de mayo es la fecha. Votar entre las 1500-2000 en el comedor del colegio viejo. Dice "si." El voto "si" es por el porvenir. Muchas gracias.

Twenty per cent of the desks in Pelican Rapids schools are filled by students who speak Spanish at home. If the Latinos in Pelican Rapids were to come out and vote yes on May 12th, they could sway the school bond issue election. The question is will they? There is little doubt that their employer has little interest in this. Nor does the CTG who are running to their attornies to prevent this. Can there be Spanish speaking election judges at the voting site to assist with voter registration? Do you have to speak English to become a citizen eligible to vote? Can the school send home a letter in Spanish next week encouraging Latino parents to come out, register and vote? Next we have the Somali faction...................isn't this fun?

56572 Blightblog(1)
Remember back a few years ago when ELCA Bishop Chilstrom lived here? He thought 56572 needed beautification. We could do a lot with a little. His dream still burns in me. I'm going to be out and about reporting on blight. How can you help? Report it to me when you see it. Mention (politely) to those showcased here on 56572 that you saw their property on the Blightblog. Clean it up, fix it up and the Blightblog photographer returns.

Come on Marlys, move that wreck or at least put a for sale sign on it. The tourists will be back soon. Get a can of spray paint for the Uffda door, a coupla more for the deck. Whaddya say? You need a makeover.
