Grand Hyatt Beijing

Last week my Governor was in this area deer hunting. Today he packed up 218 other Minnesotans and headed for China on a trade mission. According to what I heard on the radio this morning, the Governor left despite a US Embassy warning that major tourist hotels in China might be targeted by Al-Qaeda during the next week. The announcer then said that the Pawlenty Party would be at the Grand Hyatt Beijing. If there are any Al Qaeda informants reading 56572, the Governor of California is also in Beijing on a trade mission. He's the taller guy. Pawlenty is just small potatoes. No Minnesota Governor stays at anything but a Radisson or a Country Inn by Carlson. Check out one of the DQ's if you want to find him, he won't be at the Golden Arches, and won't be eating Chicken McNuggets.

The Chinese government says the spread of the deadly H5N1 bird flu in one of its provinces is not under control and has warned of a potential disaster there. There have been three fresh outbreaks of the avian virus in the north-eastern province of Liaoning in 24 hours, and a new suspected human infection.

Minnesota-China Connection: follow along with students and superintendents on the trip with the Governor.
