Today, (Thursday, April 12th) from 6 A.M. to 6 P.M. WDAY Television (Channel 6) will be broadcasting a telethon live from West Acres. It's called "Honor Flight." The PRHS Student Council will be on the telethon at 2:00 P.M. Donating the $750.00 we raised with our Sweetheart week matchmaker fund raiser. Our donation was made in honor of all who served from the Pelican Rapids area. We were told that at least 4 area veterans have signed up to take this trip.($750.00 pays for one veteran to make the trip!!!) Just over 100 WWII veterans, along with escorts and support staff members, will make the first trip from May 3-5. More than 620 veterans applied for the all-expense paid trip through the honor flight. Organizers have so far raised more than $150,000. About $400,000 would be needed to send all the applicants.
