China has been great so far the people have been so friendly and kind every where we've been, I just can't get over how much they want to engage foreigners in conversations on the street and just to even say hello. As far as the slippers in the forbidden city, its a new policy for everyone that visits, with the notion that the stone floors would be protected and last longer than shoes.

Our first week we had the chance to spend time in the rural areas and see the real china, the people in the cities have been wonderful but I tire of the big city life anywhere.

We are going out for some fresh chinese local food tonight with a chinese woman so she can help order nice dishes for us.
