Rodney DuWayne Haugrud, 61, Pelican Rapids, died Saturday, July 31, 2004, in Wahpeton, North Dakota. Mr. Haugrud was born May 24, 1943, in Pelican Rapids, where he grew up and graduated from high school in 1961. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard for four years. On June 25, 1968, he married Ellen Rossum in Pelican Rapids. He worked for the Pelican Rapids Farmers Elevator, Trosvik Inc. for 23 years and Evenson Trucking. He also worked for Paul Fosse Trucking in Rothsay, Minn. He also worked as a truck driver for Metz Bakery in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Keith (Mary), Evergreen, Colo.; a daughter, Brenda (Mike) Olson, Pelican Rapids; parents, Oliver and Florence Haugrud, Pelican Rapids; two brothers, Mark, Bruce, both Pelican Rapids; a sister, DeMaris Nelson, Fridley, Minn.; and a grandchild.
Visitation: Tuesday from 4 to 7, with a prayer service at 7, in Larson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, and Wednesday from 1 to 2 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids.
Funeral: Wednesday at 2 in the church.
Burial: Ringsaker Cemetery, Pelican Rapids.
