Amok

The past week out in the real world has impressed upon me the power of this Malay word. It seems to have pushed itself into many languages. I heard it once again used this morning on Radio Denmark to describe the Algerian who went slightly amok today and took after his Norwegian pilot with an axe. Amok seems to describe well the current state of the world and many people's lives.
