I am completely swept up by the events in Amsterdam this morning. All my adult life I have identified Amsterdam with tolerance. That a man is shot in cold blood for voicing his opinion is a knife to the stomach for all Amsterdammers. What is the future of cultural and religious tolerance in the Netherlands? It's one of the saddest of days.
