Honor Banquet set for March 5
Several area citizens will be recognized at the 67th Annual Honor Banquet on Saturday, March 5 at University of Minnesota Crookston. The Red River Valley Development Association has announced the honorees at the event, which will begin at noon in Sahlstrom Conference Center. Tickets, at $15 per person, are available until Wednesday, March 2, from Patti Malme at the Northwest Research & Outreach Center, at 281-8602.
Four Northwest Minnesota Youth Leadership Awards of $500 each will be presented to Joshua Hein, a senior at Lake Park-Audubon High School; Angela Schubert, a senior at Crookston High School; Miguel Diaz, a senior at Pelican Rapids High School; and Paul Jensen, a sophomore at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

Metcalfe receives service award
William Metcalfe, executive director of PATH North Dakota Inc., was selected to receive the Region V Children Services Coordinating Committee’s 2004 Distinguished Service Award. The award recognizes Metcalfe’s more than 25 years of services to children and families. Metcalfe, Pelican Rapids, Minn., has developed several family service and child welfare programs in North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa and Colorado.
