The monthly Monty Python posting (MMPP)

And now for something completely different.
Once a month I think I will just throw something off-the-wall on to 56572. It will be something you won't see or read anywhere else. You can help me with the MMPP by sending appropriate material. What is appropriate? Like porn. you know it when you see it. Early this morning one Mr. Fuchs in Germany emailed a cartoon to one Mr. Beerstecher in Amsterdam. My brother-in-law with the blonde sister works in downtown Amsterdam in the same office and thought I might enjoy the cartoon as well. Unfortunately, despite my personal observation of the effect of this cartoon (translated of course) on a few of my carefully screened employees, I cannot post it here, even as MMPP, due to the fact that the humor is at the cost of females with lighter colored hair.

I do not doubt that some of you are seeking a motive for the photo just below. This is the mission of 56572, global news from the global village. I take you from the rear of a squalid, mold infested Slumlord apartment in 56572 to the front of one of the finest houses in all Europe. The photo above is from said Dutch brother-in-law. It is not stolen from any Dutch media although they do have permission to lift it from 56572. It was taken on March 23rd from his office window. The water in the photo is that of the Herengracht. Those who know this part of Central Amsterdam know that this is the high rent district. In fact his office is in one of the finest canal houses (check out the interior) of all Amsterdam, just a few doors down from the Mayor's residence. The caption for the photo is:

De brandweer is om dinsdagmiddag om kwart voor vier uitgerukt naar de Herengracht. In het pand naast de ambtswoning van burgemeester Cohen zou een klein brandje woeden. De brandweer rukte met veel auto's en gierende sirenes uit. Werklieden waren bezig met reparaties aan het dak. Hierbij ontstond een kleine brand met enige rookontwikkeling. Het brandje was snel geblust, waarna de brandweerauto's weer richting de kazerne reden.

For the linguistically challenged among 56572 readers this was about a little fire with a little smoke on the roof of the house next to the Mayor's that was quickly put out. Some trucks did not make it to the fire as they were up to their axles in the construction zone which looks just like it did when I was last there six months ago.
