It has been a week of silent suffering. Nature kicked it back into neutral and tapped the brakes.
Three hours left of April. Prom night 2005. The green in the radar map is rain, the pink is mixed precip and the blue clouds are snowflakes. When I drove home this morning it was 39F/4C degrees. Neighbors were in the lake putting in docks. When I came home late this afternoon the temperature was the same. Neighbors were mowing grass wearing down jackets. The forecast for May Day is light snow up to one inch.
We are who we are because of the weather. No different than Californians. Our lives might be richer here mid-continent because we never know what we're going to get at anytime and we take what we get with little complaint. The docks go in, the grass gets mowed, the furnaces run, we go to prom on a motorcycle then come home from prom in something with four doors and a heater. We adjust and feel sorry for the girls in their strapless evening gowns. The sleet is hitting my window, a May lullaby. You are one of my favorite months April. Sad to see you go.

The UV printer lets you customize on almost anything, but it basically
needs its own bedroom and probably can’t make rent.
