Surprise Lawsuit?

CITY OF PELICAN RAPIDS COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES - 04-19-05

The City of Pelican Rapids City Council met in special session at 5:30 p.m.,
Tuesday, 04-19-05, Council Chambers, City Hall. Mayor Wayne Runningen,
Council Members Ben Woessner, Richard Peterson and John E. Waller, III, were
present. Administrator Don Solga, Clerk-Treasurer Glenys Ehlert, Police
Chief Scott Fox and City Attorney Jason Hiveley of Iverson Reuvers were also
present.

Meeting called to order by Mayor Runningen. Mayor Runningen read the
following notice, regarding the closed meeting, pursuant to the
attorney-client privilege exception to the state open-meeting law, to
discuss litigation strategy with legal counsel, specially appointed by the
League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust, regarding civil suit brought
against the City of Pelican Rapids pending in U.S. District Court.
Mayor Runningen called for a motion to close the meeting,
Motion by Woessner, seconded by Waller to close the meeting. Motion passed
unanimously.
Motion by Waller, seconded by Peterson to open the closed session. Motion
passed unanimously.
Motion by Peterson, seconded by Woessner to adjourn meeting at 6:25 p.m.
Motion passed unanimously.
