Outgrowing the Park Theater

Used to be the fire trucks in 56572 were stored in what later would become City Hall, what later would become Historic City Hall. As of late the trucks have been stored down the street in what used to be The Park Theater which later became the Fire Hall.

56572 does not care to argue the need for a new fire hall anymore than 56572 cares to argue the same point about a High School. What does interest us is how a new Fire Hall will be paid for.

Used to be that neighboring townships helped pay for the trucks while the City paid for the Fire Hall. Used to be that the City had the largest tax base. Used to be that a house in town cost more than "a cabin" at the lake.

All who enjoy protection from the PRFD should be able to enjoy the burden of paying for it. 56572 hopes City and Township officials will be able to hammer out an agreement to reflect what is. Many of us paying a little, rather than a few of us paying a lot is the answer. We hope our Town Board agrees so we can get over this bump in the road and down the road to the next fire.

Now we've got to come up with an idea for Historic City Fire Hall? A movie theater? A Liquor Store? An Internet cafe? Can you help?
