I was home sick one day this week. When I got back among the living the first person I noticed at the 56572 PO was a stranger. She was different, not unattractive, obviously not from a small town either. She got into her Jeep SUV parked in the Pelican Drug lot, turned right on East Mill and went north on Broadway. She left me with two hints. A license plate bracket with the name of a Woodbury auto dealer and on the right rear bumper a Bush-Cheney sticker. I grinned as this had been my guess.
Today's Fargo Forum (of all newspapers) shows only 30% of Americans think the President is doing a good job. Have you seen any Bush-Cheney bumper stickers lately? The Star Tribune had a teaser on the front page referring to the article on page 15 about Bush preparing to attack Iran. Seems to me that if we don't agree with an attack on Iran we'd better all get out this week and buy Bush-Cheney bumper stickers so that appoval rating heads north again. You can print these out 8.5 X 11 and Scotch tape them in each back window of your car. That's less permanent. This Iran news did not make the Forum's deadline. Here are the details:
Better stay close to home this summer, just in case.
Yesterday I chatted with the neighbor whose only daughter (he has thee older sons) is in Kuwait about to enter Iraq. I curious about his feelings as a Dad. The neighbor is a successful businessman with multiple businesses. My guess is that he would be a staunch Republican. He started his answer with the words "Bush has got a few things wrong."
Gladwell explains why read the book Why? He does not explain the Why of an attack on Iran, but he is certainly on to something with the conventions/stories/codes/technical accounts explanation. One does not tattle on the President.
