Yesterday's flurry of activity downtown carried over into Friday. Curbs were painted. People seemed to be parking in their assigned boxes. About mid-afternoon with the moon at high noon over Pelican Pete, Marlys took down the signature blue canvas window awnings of Riverview Place. Behind them we find delicate brickwork and beveled windows. They don't do that kind of craftsmanship anymore, unless it's made of plastic.
