Waiting for the Olaf Lake Ferry

This week Otter Tail County decided to try to keep as much traffic as possible from "fjording" County Highway 21 across Olaf Lake by closing the road to all but local traffic.

We have hears rumors that a local prominent Norwegian, who even went up to see Princess Martha Louise in Fargo in March, has put in an appeal to King Harald V of Norway for a used Norwegian car ferry to be used to cross King Olaf V Lake in Norwegian Grove Township in Minnesota. We also hear that the Norwegian Grove Town Board might even rename the lake to Harald the Fifth if ferry fares bring in enough revenue to purchase a couple of new signs. We would like the prominent Norske to let us know if has heard back yet. Time seems to be of the essence.

There is always the chance that the Associated Press or Aftenposten would pick up the story from 56572 and give credit where credit is due.

If all else fails, one could ask to rent the Hjemkomst and transport passengers only. That would bring in tourists with money from who knows where. Norge maybe?

Should all else seriously fail, we could ask to borrow Berndt's pontoon and hang one of the prominent Norske's many Norsk flags off the stern, or should that be the bow, or both?

What did Moses' walking stick look like? Nevermind.
