Striving to capture the universe in a drop of paint, Solien accumulates cartoon and advertising imagery in his paintings in order to erase, disfigure or reinterpret them. The results, as the artist states, "speak to some level of my own dilemma as a human being," evoking innocence, corruption, love and destruction.
