Bob Staake's "Back to Cool" cover art intrigued me. My Dad used to say that the older he got, the more it seemed like life played itself out stuck on fast forward. Now that I am about the age he was when he said it, I, once again, am finding myself agreeing with him. In my job I have to be able to relate to young people. I have tried, harder than most I feel, to keep up with what kids are thinking about. It's getting harder and harder. I use use AIM to text message my kids. I know what MySpace is, even have a page I never use. I have an iPod, but not a video iPod. I understand why Scarlett may be on a guy's mind once in awhile. I know Snoop Dog is a rapper.

I gave myself a score of 8 of 12 correctly identified. Is that cool for a Dad, or not Ings? The older you are the lower your score will be. How did you do Mom? Lemme guess? The one in black? Whoops! Mom uses AIM, so she'll get two right. (Mom says she got five, which ones? I meant BEFORE you clicked on the blue link.) Email me the top twelve things on your mind when you were a kid Mom. Then we'll let our younger readers guess how old you are.

I would ask 56572 readers to suggest (use the comments button) the twelve things filling the heads of students in 56572 today. It's gotta be different. Am I out to lunch? All the above you say?
