The state of 56572 football in the fall of 2006 is sound. It's Saturday mid-October. Viking Storrusten (photo left) and Viking Lundquist bask in the afterglow of fulfilling the prophecy of the WDAY sportscaster's hype that "an undefeated team could lose tonight." The Bees from the East End of 108 took the long dark road home in the words of their Coach Howie "whooped about as solidly as you can be."
Viking Franco and Viking Martinez will carry their own Viking Pride south to their football pitch in Fergus Falls where this afternoon, along with a few other very talented Norwegian Vikings, they will put their undefeated record on the line in the first playoff game for the Hillcrest Lutheran Academy Comets.
Classmates of different backgrounds, all excelling at their kind of football.

Jim, Is this suppose to be Tyden? I don't believe it is.
It's so fun to celebrate both of our PRHS "football" teams. Great kids and talented athletes! I can't help but wonder though, why the great contributions over the years of our Pelican Rapids High School soccer players (including both boys and girls)continues without any measureable press references to PRHS? I can understand the state-wide publicity that a private high school welcomes from an undefeated boys' team, but aren't our PRHS student-players' contributions significant enough to be recognized in some way within the team name? Could it be Hillcrest/Pelican Rapids Comets or could we follow the lead of Barnesville and Rothsay who paired their football teams to become a hybrid named "Agassiz Valley"? Am I seeing this accurately Hillcrest Lutheran Academy?
