56572 readers neglected last week to remind the editor that he had forgotten the usual end-of-the-week TWTWTW posting.
Week 47 was a time to catch our collective breath. Since the sudden departure of Superintendent Baldry..... the loss of Josh Hanson outside Fallujah, the honor of collectively welcoming him home then laying him to rest a few days later.... the sudden and not so sudden loss of three downtown restaurants.....more closely contested elections complete with recounts than anyone can remember.... a week of searching east of town for Troy Schultz and finally finding him.....these have been traumatic weeks for 56572. In week 47 we were thankful for a week to circle the family wagons and rest. The sight of a Chicago taxi on the streets of 56572 raised eyebrows.
The dust that settled during Week 47 got stirred up by the middle of Week 48. PressGuy wrote a thought provoking essay that PressOwners published that caused BlogGuy to work overtime hours moderating anonymous blog comments. BlogGuy is ready to retire and let PressOwner take over these pages. A burned up Chevy, rumors of a carjacking at gunpoint and by the 1st of December a link between the two had the dust flying again, diverting attention from PressGuy's essay, just in time for what many hope will be a quiet weekend where the Seniors can make their lefse and the kids can sit on Santa's lap without seeing his bodyguards protecting the parked sleigh out front.
BlogGuy was sad this week (of all weeks) that by the weekend Former PressOwner had not come online to share his opinions. He is the one with the perspective that we all seem to need and the writing talents to tell us. Then again, maybe he did and we just didn't notice. Maybe he is writing a Letter to the Editor which could cause next week's Press edition to sell out? PressGuy could use his support. BlogGuy misses his opinions.
