Why did the pelican cross the road?

HELP!

Well, if it's the Season for Giving, we're hoping you'll help us with a special project: We've just received six pelicans from Pelican Lake, Minnesota, who will be with us for awhile. They're very underweight, a couple of them have wing fractures, and we're running tests to see if there are parasites, lead poisoning, etc., present to account for the fact that they did not migrate. (there were also two dead pelicans found at the same time and we've sent them out for testing)

These six pelicans join another juvenile pelican that we admitted earlier this week bringing our total to seven American Pelicans. They eat fish, and their dietary needs alone will cost us several hundred dollars a day. The ones who survive will need to be flown to Florida or Texas to join other migratory flocks. Please dig into your pockets and help us provide care for these birds. You can donate right here online, or send a check to
WRC, 2530 Dale St., Roseville, MN 55113. Your contribution is tax-deductible. Just make a note of "pelican" on the check.
