Digging up the past online

This past weekend we discovered this diagram showing how great the job market was for Norwegian speaking Lutheran pastors west of 56572 in the late 19th century. The diagram is in this book in the New York Public Library. If you can't read Norsk, you won't get far.

There is a lot of detailed information about all Otter Tail County Norwegian Lutheran churches. All churches mention the number of souls in their congregation. After the number of souls some churches
(in parentheses) mention the number of Danes, Swedes, even mixed-bloods. The pastor's annual salary is also noted as well as how much the congregation gave for missions. Fascinating information thanks to Google Books.

My goodness, the two side "towers" added a lot to the church! Also, what is wrong with the clock? As I recall, the clock was fixed in the 1990's. Can it be fixed again? What about the bells?

Just curious
