In her father's footsteps

56572 congratulates Kathy Josephson for her appointment to the Lake Region Electrical Cooperative Board of Directors representing District 1. She will fill the chair left open by the death of her father Harold Marty. 56572 welcomes news of the appointment of a woman to the Board of Directors. That it's Kathy buoys us. We are sure she will do a good job representing all Cooperative members and hope the membership will give her their support. If you need these pages to inform us of what's happening Kathy or you need feedback, they are open to you. Thanks for being willing to serve. We hope you will decide to run for the seat in June. What better tribute to your father!

Thank you to Jim and all in the community for the generous support you have offered for my taking on the role as your Director with Lake Region Electric. Your words of encouragement are much appreciated and I hope you will share your ideas, concerns and questions about our cooperative with me. My email address is rkjoseph@loretel.net. I believe the service I can best extend to you is to diligently represent your ideas and interests and to be a conduit for answers and information flowing back to members in District 1.

Members have asked about my background, so I would like to offer a brief bio for you to know where I am coming from (in addition to being Harold and Mary Marty's daughter).

I live two miles west of Pelican Rapids with my husband of 22 years, Randy Josephson, on a homestead that used to be Edna and John Jenson's. I have been a Lake Region Electric Cooperative member since we purchased our property on Lake Lizzie in 1998.

I earned a Master's degree in Management with Information Technology certification from University of Mary, and bachelor's degrees in English and University Studies from Minnesota State University - Moorhead. Working at Microsoft Great Plains in Fargo made up the majority of my career so far, with over 13 years in their sales and marketing departments. I also worked for Fargo Public Schools and have focused on advertising and marketing for the past several years, including two years as advertising manager for Shooting Star Casino. I serve on the Board for Pelican Township as Clerk.

This past summer and fall I took the opportunity to spend considerable time with my father in the car, at his home and at the hospital when he was ill, so was able to enjoy time discussing his interests in community service, his passions for learning and grassroots politics and to discuss his beliefs and lessons from his life. I hope to be able to bring you the best combination of my learning from him and from my experience as your District 1 Director.
Please don't hesitite to share your ideas for the continued health, success and growth of our electric coop!

Many thanks for your support -- KJ
