The Pelican Page

The Fergus Falls Daily Journal has a redesigned website which we find refreshing. They have a page dedicated to news from 56572 that you may want to bookmark. One can even subscribe to a Daily Journal podcast. I'm sure many of the hits on the Journal website today came from 56572 where we were reading about what 56572's Doug Aas and his buddies in Bravo Company came across outside Fallujah. The news from Camp TQ today was:

Good day folks, I just wanted to let you know that today we had a dedication ceremony for the the base's new education center. I don't know if anyone from the battalion emailed you already but I thought I would shoot you an email and let you know. It's called the SSG Joshua Hanson Memorial Education Center. It's just been built next to our battalion gym and opened today. There are about 20 or so computers that can be used for online college courses and army correspondence courses so that we can encourage our soldiers to continue with their education while deployed. There is also a class room inside that we will be able to have briefings and monthly classes in instead of doing it outside in the sand, wind and sun. I don't have any pictures yet but I'm going to talk to the PAO rep and see if I can get the ones they took. Let me know if someone already sent you pictures. Hope you guys are well. Things here are going as usual. We are staying positive and getting through things a day at a time. Take care!! -Doug
