"Sometimes a Crater" (Memories of 56572 from the early years of the 21st Century)

"My favorite place to go is Pelican Rapids. Some of my first and best friends live around there. Mason, Blain, and Keenan are some of those friends. I met Mason Burby when I was four and knew him until I was seven. We were really good friends until I moved away. Another one of my friends from Pelican Rapids is named Blaine Gorton. He was actually my first friend I knew him from age one to age seven. We had a lot of fun in those six years. I was six when I met Keenan in kindergarten. We both went to after school care. That’s how we became friends. He was my best friend until I met Sam. It’s such a small town that my mom let me go anywhere I wanted. One of the reasons I can do that is because I am old enough. Another reason is that I almost knew everyone in town. The last reason is because my mom is very good friends with the owners of the two places I love to go. Pelican Rapids has some really cool stores. The Splash, Riverside Café, and my favorite The Muddy Moose are some cool stores. The Splash is a toy store. It has almost every kind of toy you can think of from army men, to Legos, to computer games. It was attached to the drug store. So every time my mom would go to get her prescription twice a week I would get a toy. I had and still have a collection of space men. I would get a new bag of a space men, or a space ship, or probes, or a satellite, and sometimes a crater. One other store I like is The Muddy Moose. It was more of a chocolate shop then a coffee shop. Another thing I like about it is the owner's daughter was in my class. Last but not least, the owner of the River Side Café was Keenan's mom. My favorite place to be is Pelican Rapids because my friends are there. I can go wherever I please and there are really cool stores."
