One of the many hazards on my commute consists of driving through the Sherwood Forest of Lida Township, known to locals as The Three Mile Woods. A flock of wild turkeys has moved in the past few years and now think they own the place. This morning a tom was standing in the middle of State Highway 108, in the curve, in the middle of The Three Mile Woods, in full display strutting for some somewhat interested hens off on the side of the road. What his bravado meant to them, I have no clue. To me it seemed like a death wish. Roadkill wild turkey would add to the list of hazards, which earlier this week included Roadkill Snapping Turtle and Roadkill Raccoon.
