The Berry Brothers

It’s not unusual for siblings to drive each other to distraction. But for two brothers, a highway ditch was the ultimate destination Monday night after one tried to make an inopportune phone call to the other. James Berry, 29, Perham, Minn., was driving north on Highway 59 near Detroit Lakes, Minn., Monday evening when he spotted his brother, John Berry, 26, of Pelican Rapids heading toward him from the other direction, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.When the elder brother reached for his cell phone to ring and say hello, his Dodge truck crossed the center line and collided head on with John Berry’s Ford truck, the State Patrol report said.The vehicles went into the ditch, but the brothers suffered only minor injuries, the State Patrol said.
