Bienvenue Madame L'ambassadrice - Welcome Aunt Connie

Here's some news which might not make the Local News column in the Press....

VIP in the audience

56572 was granted an audience (Bolla Pinot Grigio in the Muddy Moose) with the United States Ambassador to the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development in Paris, France) today. The honorable
Constance A. Morella is in 56572 for PRHS commencement exercises this weekend. She was not asked to speak - look at her record of public service - we no longer invite Commencement speakers. The graduate she was here to honor wishes to remain anonymous.

Ambassador Morella served sixteen years in the United States House of Representatives representing the 8th District of Maryland prior to being named Ambassador by President Bush in 2003. Click here to read her blog - Sorry Ambassador - your biography. The Ambassador is the most distinguished 56572 blog reader we know of.

The Ambassador sees an improvement in Franco-American relations with the election of President Nicolas Sarkozy last month. 56572 was more interested in learning more about Madame Sarkozy.

Welcome to 56572 Madame Ambassador. We hope your weekend is enjoyable. Should you care to comment on your experiences here: Tent Caterpillars, the mosquitoes, the dialect, an eighteen year old Scandinavian Minnesotan named Skow-Anderson singing like Bocelli in Italian, Norm Coleman, your choice for 44th President of the United States (Vous Madame?) or even the OECD, the floor is your's.

Should you care to announce your candidacy for President, 56572 would appreciate your breaking the news on these pages. Hillary only got as far as the Twin Cities today, you made it here.

After reading about your background, 56572 cannot understand why the Republican Party is not courting you....as we say here in Minnesota....hook, line and sinker. If there ever was a candidate in the center who people from both parties could agree on....the only Republican in Congress to vote against invading Iraq in both 1991 and 2002 and still chosen Ambassador to the OECD by President Bush in 2003!

Aunt Connie for President!
