It's been a quiet week in Lake Wobegon ...... my home town ... out here on the edge of the prairie ... it's been a cold one, even with a full moon, a full lunar eclipse and a hydrazine vapor cloud ...... Pelican Pete has been upstaged this week .... a Trumpeter Swan has taken up bottom-feeding in the Pelican River right downtown between Riverside Coffee and the Beauty Cellar this week .... we're calling him Lloyd ..... Lloyd hightails it when Tammie comes out on the deck with her point-and-shoot digital ... that while our resident bald eagle flies over Broadway patrolling up and downstream ... even at -55 wind chill... and the PRPD hunts for somebody with a slingshot ... according to the Journal ....  so then, you're up to speed.
