Today was the most beautiful day of the summer of 2004. It fell on a Sunday which made up for the worse than lousy Fourth Weekend. Thank you Weather Gods, I knew you'd be checking this blog frequently. After our bad karma yesterday more T-storms dropped about another inch on us during the night. We'll take it. My better half gave her sermon last night at the first annual Community Church Service in Sherin Park. It was to be an international affair, but the Ukrainian and Nigerian Worship Teams didn't make it. So the Preacher was Dutch, the lay reader Ukrainian and a South American sang and read. There were about twenty-five people present, the same number of hours that went into the sermon. After church today my better half came home to tell me that she had said "I suppose....." (which in Minnesotan translates to a yes) to a friend's request to allow her guanxied sister-in-law to give NPR's All Things Considered my better half's name and number should they care to do a story about 56572. I had not forgotten that ATC had been here once before. I searched, found the April 1, 1997 transcript and paid the exorbitant $4.95 to retrieve it. NPR has this written at the bottom of the transcript:
Copyright ©1990-2004 National Public Radio®. All rights reserved. No quotes from the materials contained herein may be used in any media without attribution to National Public Radio. This transcript may not be reproduced in whole or in part without prior written permission.
Do you suppose the NPR cops are reading this blog already? Do I dare? Give me feedback. With my luck I'd end up in front of the sister-in-law's better half. Welcome back to 56572 NPR! I'll alert the locals to raise prices before you arrive.
