Life in the left lane

Trader Pete gives us some insight on his daily commute on the 405 between Irvine and Long Beach. Judging by the news from California this past week, he may be safer on the 405 where he doesn't have any railroad tracks. Father and son must have had some synergy going this week. I had my camera out on my Wednesday afternoon commute when the setting sun made for some nice light. A shot of my rear view mirror would have shown a guy pushing me as I took this shot just after Flatin's Curve where the frost boils came up a couple of weeks ago. I usually use the left lane here in mid to late winter when going north when there's no oncoming traffic............... which is usually.

Almost home.............Camel Rider's cabin on the left

I am so fed up with January that I tore it off the calendar a week early. Just east of 56572 under the shadow of the Jacobs wind turbine up on the hill is Northcroft. News from Northcroft this week is that there are three January lambs. You can save a lamb from the local Muslims by adopting one for $50.

While you are at it, you can buy her book on amazon.com. You can follow along on what the Shepherdess is up to these days...and nights.

You can listen (click on the top right thumbnail) to Jarvis on Voices for the Land by Brian Peterson of the Star Tribune. It is the best multi-media essay I have ever seen or heard. You need the Flash plug in to hear her. Get it here.
