Going Places

At the June 22nd Pelican Rapids Library Board Meeting, the Board regretfully accepted Pamela Westby’s resignation as Library Director. She has accepted a similar employment position in Sparta, Wisconsin.

Pamela will be greatly missed. Her experience, insight and professional dedication have transformed a literary resource into the gem of the community. She has strengthened the library, developed an excellent staff and nurtured a dedicated army of volunteers.

The Board would like to express our gratitude to Pamela Westby for her service.

Currently accepting applications for the position of full-time Library Director at the Pelican Rapids Public Library. Position available September 1st. Duties include: Administration, collection development, building management, staff training, budget and financial management, reference service, public relations, collaboration, programming and technology management. Familiarity with public library offerings required such as: services to diverse populations, interlibrary loan, electronic resources, reader’s advisory and integrated online library services.

Deadline for applications: July 25, 2006. Salary: is dependent on education and experience. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, MLS or related graduate degree preferred.
