So, what's our problem?

I would like to propose to Minnesota lawmakers that the MNDOT be immediately instructed to take down all Adopt-a-Highway signs across the state. Next I would propose that money be appropriated, possibly from the Lottery, to purchase enough automated bottle and can machines to supply one to every grocer in the state. Most people you see walking into European grocery stores are carrying bottles and cans to get their deposit refunded. At the entrance to the store are these machines. Drop in a can or bottle, or as is the case in Denmark slide in a partial or full case of bottles, and your $.15 credit pops up on the digital screen. When you have finished, take your receipt and give it to the cashier at the check out for a discount on the groceries you just purchased. At $.15 per can or bottle our ditches will clean themselves. Easy, simple, done deal. Money will be saved. Our highways will have less sign clutter and trash in the ditches. What are we waiting for? The future is here. Just not in Minnesota.
