Before we plant the perennials...

56572
City Council Minutes, June 27, 2006:
Administrator Don Solga reviewed the Park Board’s ideas to plant trees around the Mill Pond Dam. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources previously conducted a study and recommended that trees not be planted in the embankment. Motion by Peterson, seconded by Woessner to deny the Park Board’s recommendation to plant trees in the Mill Pond Dam area. Motion passed unanimously.

During the past week 56572's most photographed site changed yet again. Terraces have been put in on the embankment. Landscaping blocks to match those on the south and north bank of the river have been used.

Fearing reprisal I have decided to withhold comment on this matter. Your comments would be appreciated. Your anonymity will be guaranteed. Click on the comments button below. Hurry before the perennials are planted.

Stones for the embankment should have matched the existing wall. It is looking very sterile - no natural beauty anymore!

if any of you have the money to pay for such a wall please leave the money to the city but i believe that the city is doing a good job with what they can afford and a big thanks goes to state bank and by the way its not done yet
