Met Joe Maske this morning. Joe asked if I wasn't "that guy with the blog." Joe asked why local media wasn't doing more to inform voters in the runup to the Primary. When is it, three weeks from today? I suggested Joe grab the tiger by the tail and start his own blog. Joe answered that although he does email, he cannot get DSL out where he lives northwest of 56572.
Should this be an campaign issue by itself? Parts of Otter Tail County without broadband?
I told Joe that 56572 was not a political blog as such, that I was not ready to start endorsing candidates, that I would help him set up his own. He could email comments to his blog, voters could comment. I offer the same to Mary and PP, the other candidates who filed in District 2. Let's hear from you. Don't wait for local media to come to you. Want our vote? Talk to us. Even those of us out here in the boonies with dialup.

I've heard it said that anyone who would promise universal DSL coverage could be elected our next President. If Joe could bring this to us I might even vote for him....
