Malcolm K. Lee is about to retire from public service. From the early 1970's when he was the Godfather of shoreland management in Otter Tail County to the last decades when he served as our County Commissioner, Mac had displayed exemplary and visionary leadership. What is being done to honor Mac for all those years? Are you doing an article on him Kelley? Somebody should. If you don't, I will. It's not something Mr. Lee would seek. 56572 salutes you Mr. Lee on a job very well done. Hats off to Mac!

Yes, we agree that Malcolm should have some special recognition for his years as commissioner. Having known Malcolm for quite a few years, we know that the decisions he made were well researched and made without any selfish motive. Thank you, Malcolm for your dedicated service to the Pelican Rapids School Board, Lakeshore Land Management and as a County Commissioner.
Thank you Malcolm. You will be missed! Happy retirement!
Ain't this ironic? Pelican has lost two great people and can't find another. Malcom and Harold are probably discussing more pertinent issues now. Hopefully the missing person turns up with nothing more than a headache.
Too bad Malcom wasn't around to see a hundred & eight to the west get a direly needed facelift, but living 'til a hundred isn't too common. Which brings me to another huge disappointment. Is it is it that the new stretch of black top 4 miles west is as terrible as the rest of 108 just to make it all all consistenly horrible? Who was inspecting the highway crew on that job? Very poor road work. Put the slow down sign back up as anything over 40 mph will be too bumpy! As for the guard rails, their placement seems to be to protect traffic from bumping off into the ditch!
