Transparent leadership

It seems odd to 56572 that the leader in transparent government in this area is not a city, not a school board, not a hospital board, not a cooperative board, but a township.

56572 wants to award it's first annual Pelikudo for online excellence to the Scambler Town Board. Their website, created and maintained by Town Board Chair Wayne Johnson, is superb.

By now I bet they wonder how they ever got things done without it. I bet it was paid for with sweat equity and not too many tax dollars.

If I wanted to know when they will meet next, what they will talk about, even add items to the agenda, I can do this from the website. Meeting minutes from the past three years and township policies are there to bring me up to speed. Email addresses of township officials are listed to keep the lines of communication open.

This local government website leaves others in the dust. Wayne's email is listed if you need advice on how to do it. Maybe PP could be the first to call?
