A Frazee, Minnesota man is accused of trying to hire a hit man to paralyze or kill his estranged wife after persistent attempts to rekindle his relationship with her failed.
Problem was, the hit man was actually an undercover agent whose taped conversations with David Wayne Steffen landed the 47-year-old in the Cass County Jail.
Steffen planned to pay the hit man $5,500 to paralyze his wife and agreed to pay $12,000 “if she croaks.”
