I've not been sleeping as well the past week, knowing that 56572 had one less Civil Defense shelter. The basement of Rick's Super Valu/Pelican Dollar was the approved fallout shelter for 56572. Before fallout, it was the local roller rink. Soon it will be a memory. Note the door in the east basement wall under the sidewalk. Does it lead to the catacombs? Would the Mayor know? A local insurance agent? Anybody?

The President may have started out by trash-talking America; one year into
his second term, he is simply trashing it.

A possibility is that the doorway you see went up to an entrance in the sidewalk in which products used to be delivered.
Usually, at sidewalk level, two steel doors covered the stairwell down to basements of these older establishments.
We used to have a few back in Mahnomen that were still around when I was a wee little lad.
Was that building there before they raised the street through town?
I believe that is the door we used to go through to get to the roller rink. (We went down stairs outside the building first.)

As I remember it, the entrance to the roller rink was in the northwest corner off the alley.
