"The world's largest pelican was not located off their main street or at the town entrance. We prepared to start searching the city parks when we spotted it in the middle of town behind some buildings next to the dam on the river. There were people fishing and catching nice bass. The pelican is located on their man-made pelican rapids and the other side had a fountain and bridge. It was nice."

I hope those people released all the nice bass. Bass season does not open until May 26th-Saturday!!!
Many people pass through Pelican and never see "Pete". A good plan may have been to make the corner into a park and put the drug store in another location. I am very happy to have the drug store, I just think that would have looked nice.
It could be Pelican Pete Park!
We're impressed you found us. We had a great vacation for our 1st anniversary. :o)
