Lake Region Electrical Cooperative press release and photo:
High winds over the weekend blew a pole shed into a 115 kV transmission line west of Erhard causing outages at a dozen Lake Region Electric Cooperative substations on Sunday. While the transmission line is owned by another utility, it feeds power to LREC substations. Most substation outages lasted less than 10 minutes because crews were able to backfeed power from another substation. The Erhard substation was out until the transmission line outage was repaired.
