Waiting on metamorphosis

The 56572 Editor had the distinct honor of tagging along with Jordy through Maplewood State Park early this morning.

First there was a Sedge Wren, then two Cowbirds, then a Jogger with a ponytail, then a buck, then a doe with two fawns, then a Blue Heron, then a couple from Texas out walking, then another doe, then a Bald Eagle, then Jordy's favorite dead tree, then a Damselfly, then some Wood Ducks, then a bunch of Bobolink, then a few Warblers, then six Loons having a meeting on Andrew Lake, then another doe with two fawns, then a slough of tadpoles, then some mini-frogs, then two pickups pulling boats, then two girls on bicycles, then a few Baltimore Orioles, then a Turkey Vulture, then a granola bar, then a Red-tailed Hawk, then a Kingbird, then a Hen Mallard with a brood, then more Woodies.

"It was a slow morning photographically," Jordy said. My guess is that he took about one hundred photos. His goal for the morning was a photo of a fawn and one of a Monarch Caterpillar. He got neither. The fawns were as skittish as the caterpillar who had already cocooned himself waiting for metamorphosis.
